John: FYI: Alpharetta has just launched a community garden at Wills Park. There will be 32 plots for rent for $50 a year--they sold out in something like 4 days. I stopped by there Saturday and two "enabling" beds are already built--these are for seniors or those with handicaps. The rest will be built as part of Comcast Cares Day on April 25.

Also, two separate citizens have written to me that they have space they would allow to be used for a community garden. The latest is a cleared one acre in full sunshine. I will swing by there this week to check it out. I'm not sure how that would work legally, but it may present an option for our City while we wait for the whole parks things to be solved.
