Dunwoody, Sandy Springs & Johns Creek have formed the North Metro Swat Team

The police departments in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and Johns Creek have contributed money, manpower and equipment to form the new North Metro SWAT team.  The North Metro SWAT team's primary response will be to answer calls in the three cities. Team leader William Hegwood with the Dunwoody Police Department tells Channel 2 Action News "hopefully we're never called, but when we're called, we're ready and prepared to handle whatever situations we can."

Each police department contributes $45,000 a year to help fund the SWAT team.
