Dunwoody polling places will be posting results about 7:30

Starting about 7:30 this evening, each of the polling places listed above will be posting the unofficial results to the inside of an outside facing window.  So if a team of 13 people were waiting with a flashlight and a notebook, the unofficial results could be tallied and on the web by about 8 / 8:30 pm.

We have two races (Mayor & District 1) with three candidates therefore if no one candidate receives 50% +1 vote the runoff election will be held on Tuesday December 6th.

Back in September of 2008, only 6,217 people voted in the citywide election for my council seat, therefore it will be interesting to compare the elections and turnout results.
I will be stopping by a number of the polling places myself to check the numbers and then doing the rounds to a few of the after election parties.   If anyone sees results, please feel free to reach out to me, John@JKHeneghan.com or @Dunwooodynorth on Twitter.

FYI, my victory after-set will be at “The Local” tavern on Ponce De Leon Avenue in Atlanta, and yes, you can smoke there!

I will be buying each one of those who wrote me in for mayor a Guinness draft (the barmaids in this lounge are the only ones in this town that really know how to draw a stout) and a Jameson back.

However, should an unlikelihood occur and I do not win, then don’t bother to show up as I will more than likely crash one of my opponents’ victory bashes and drink for free.

To Rob Augustine:

You go first with your "spin" on the Parks referenda. This should be entertaining.

As Abe Lincoln said, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

"Smart City; ? Council"

A Rob Spin try

The fact that the Sunday liquor sales was on the ballot brought out an unusually large number of uneducated voters having only self interest and personal pleasure in mind. Were it not for that, the real far thinking people of Dunwoody would have prevailed. We all learned from the experience.

Now that the bond thing is over, let us heal all wounds, join hands and proceed to realize the full potential of this Smart City filled with Smart People (the 2/3 that voted against the bonds).
