The Dunwoody City Council said goodbye to our first Mayor and two of our Councilmembers (Ross & Wittenstein) by honoring all three (and thanking their families). We passed the agenda as published and the new Mayor and Councilmembers will be sworn in on January 3rd.
I was a little under the weather but attended the meeting none the less as I wanted to honor my fellow councilmembers who have put in numerous hours of dedication and service to the community.
Gentlemen, it has been a pleasure as well as my distinct honor in serving along side you. Thank you and Godspeed in all of your future adventures in life.

Thank-you, Councilman Robert Wittenstein, for your tireless and selfless service to the city. You were particularly courageous when the creation of the City of Dunwoody was a maze of anxiety and vacillation and its destiny was in doubt. You lightened the labyrinth brilliantly and showed us all the way out.
You certainly were not deserving of the flout and scorn that was unjustifiably flung and slung at you in this last election. But for those that engaged in these cowardly contumelies against your person, I, as Shakespeare once wrote, "shall always hold their manhood cheap".
Once again, thank-you, Robert Wittenstein, you are a good man.

The extremism, anger, paranoia and sense of victim-hood that Fox incubates are all unhealthy for the United States. But it's inflicting particular damage on the Republican party, which could well lose a winnable election because of its supine relationship to a TV network. It turns out it is not liberals who should fear the Fox – it's conservatives."
It appears that in the last city election Dunwoody voters went the Fox News viewers' route: they were persuaded by political prevarication. Yes indeed, Smart People - Smart City!
Clearly, I am not the most well read person in Dunwoody. It amazes me how much time and effort goes into picking a blog handle or name. I had to look this up to find out more: Aleister Crowley:

We live in a very diverse Country, and I am good with that. The ability to understand each other and determine one's own comfort level with what another says is part of the responsibility our living in a free society.
I personally find this person's comments without credibility, just so you know.

Careful Max, in your assumption that Aleister Crowley is a handle. I've known a couple of other real Aleister Crowley's in my life. You see, the benefit of using your real name when commenting in a blog is that if someone writes something libelous "apud animus nocendi" about you - you can sue.
But let's analyze what you have written in your comment. Are you not finding Mr. Crowley a credible person because as you state, "Crowley was also bisexual, a recreational drug experimenter and a social critic"?
Well, if it because of the former (i.e. "bisexual"), then you are a very close-minded and intolerant person, but if it is for the reason of your latter two descriptions (i.e. "a recreational drug experimenter and a social critic") then you really don't get out much and aren't aware that you've probably described a majority of Dunwoody citizens that are more than delighted to defile a doobie in the privacy of their own homes or the upstairs rooms of an adult party while railing about the high taxes they are forced to pay.
Yes, Max, please do catch up on your reading and historical events. The name Aleister Crowley is not quite so obscure. My eponymous forebear was actually one of the most renown and influential Britons of the twentieth century, in fact I believe the BBC has him in the top 100 and he was such a venerated pop cult figure in the UK and USA in the 60's that his image was depicted on the album cover of the Beatles' "Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band".
But Max even if Aleister Crowley is an alias, I would suspect from your inchoate chortling, which I'm sure you assumed everyone would find as a clever, albeit personally defaming, quip, that even if the person's pseudonym were "Thomas Jefferson" you'd still have to Google it.
Well, Max, clearly you are not the man about town we admire. You are surely the expert on picking blog handles as well given that you have so many of them in your little book. On the other hand, you jump to conclusions and disparagement so easily that often I think your privileges will be revoked.
Why, I just had a Jameson and dinner with Aleister over at Allison's Restaurant the other evening. Quite a nice chap who is planning on starting a Dunwoody Philosophical Society. I think it is certainly needed and would provide both a forum and a guide to the latest scientific analysis from erudite Dunwoody sophists among others. Aleister thinks he may even be able to publish some of the many writings in an edited and more serious tome than we typically see on the blogs. Imagine putting Max's "inchoate chortling" in an appendix somewhere!
DTOM's agenda supported the FAILED Bond referenda. He/she/it's position was summarily rejected by an overwhelming majority of conservative Dunwoody taxpayers, as was one of it's architects.
That hurts, I get it.

As to you, my dear Crowley, I simply don't like your handle. Beyond that, the ideas you posted regarding the Fourth Estate, are, at best, puerile and polemic.
I could attempt a teachable moment with the both of you, if either is inclined to lay off the nonsensical accusations and assertions. In order to tolerate each other more fully, I suggest libations and a Holiday spirit are involved. Unless you'd both prefer 'wine' on the internet.
I have no agenda other than assisting our elected leaders by providing fact based information, majority viewpoints, and a bit of humor.

I've been doing a bit of sleuthing and I am suspecting that about 20 or more of these screen comment identities belong to "GaryRayBetz".
I examined the times of "GaryRayBetz" and other screen identity entries for some time now and have come to the conclusion that he automatically posts his comments on the blog sites with the use of a cron job script. Or he is just OCD and feels a compulsion to post at the same specific times.
Maybe "GaryRayBetz" should go back to writing his own blog. His last entry in it was on Bastille Day this year when he ended his post with a "Twenty Bald Pate Insults" in a literary allusion to Rostand's play "Cyrano de Bergerac" and Martin's film "Roxanne" honoring their "20 Big Nose Insults". Was witty stuff!
This stuff is no way up to GRB standards. Usually I think it's Max and probably dundevil at work. Bagman floats around as well. Probably 3 or 4 bloggers with many zombie identities. They carry on posting with great alacrity over long periods. Kind of a Ripley's unto themselves.

You are far beyond me, GRB. a veritable Francis Bacon of Dunwoody you are. You have automatic membership in the DPS if it gets started and will be on the board from what I gather from Aleister.
