Dunwoody Storm Clean Up and latest from City

 Storm Clean Up

The City of Dunwoody Public Works Department has had crews out cleaning and removing storm debris since 8:30pm Thursday evening. In that time, they have removed more than 30 trees blocking Dunwoody roadways.

If you see trees down with power lines, do not attempt to remove it. Call Georgia Power to report the tree and its location at 1-888-891-0938.   Please remember that city crews can't move trees near downed power lines. We have to wait for Georgia power to assist with it

If you see trees in the roadway that need immediate attention please call us at 678-382-6850 or, for emergencies dial 911. You can also report issues to See, Click, Fix.

The latest road update from City of Dunwoody is as follows:

· Chamblee Dunwoody Rd @ Vermack is closed until further notice. Northbound traffic is being detoured into Kings Down Rd and Southbound through Vermack.

· Mt. Vernon Rd between Tilly Mill & Mt. Vernon Place is closed due to fallen tree. GeorgiaPower will be there to remove tree and restore power soon.

· Womack Rd is still blocked at Wickford Way due to a downed tree and power lines. We hope the road will be cleared soon.

Reminder: Treat all intersections with no working traffic signals as a 4-way stop. Be careful out on the roads and be mindful of work crews.

Be sure to follow the City of Dunwoody on Facebook & Twitter as well as Dunwoody Police on Facebook and Twitter.

Please call 911 for all emergencies.

If there is anything that I can personally do for anyone, please reach out at 770-234-0678.  I have power, internet & wifi to share as well as fridge and freezer space or what ever I can to do to assist you.

Please check on your neighbors too !!

Thanks

John

Below is information from Michael Smith I copied from an email he sent me.

The City had all of the trees out of the road that were not entangled with power lines by 6 a.m. this morning. There are about 8 locations including Olde Village Run where Georgia Power still has to remove the live power lines before the tree can be cleared.

We are referring citizens to the Georgia Power outage map on their website for information about restoring power.

We also have been in contact with DeKalb sanitation to make sure they are aware of the large amount of debris that will likely be at the curb next week. The County plans to collect everything that meets their guidelines for pickup.

The link to their guidelines:
