I'm curious, John. Why did you vote against the permit for the conversion of the Chevron on Chamblee-Dunwoody to restaurant/retail? I, for one, am happy to see something in that area developed into something other than a bank or a doctor's office. And that are desperately needs more restaurants.

Jason, after numerous proposed changes, the city attorney whispering in my ear for an additional change or condition he wanted, the applicant saying that he was in discussions with CVS for a solution to the lawsuit (which would then change the layout) and the revelation that the subject property had a spite strip that was 1 foot wide going around CVS towards Mt. Vernon - I thought that a deferral for an additional two weeks to allow the CVS negotiations continue, the numerous amendments be codified so they could be studied and research done on the spite stip as the applicant was willing to negotiate the future access to that property, but the Council decided they were ready to move forward. My motion to defer did not pass and the measure was approved.
