Councilman Tom Taylor Re-Election Kickoff at Bruster's on Saturday Night at 7 p.m.

  1. Isn't this vote buying? - "Free ice cream for the first 200 attendees" at a politician's campaign event. Why not just hand everyone $3 for coming and let them decide what to do with the money?

  2. seeing how many of those in attendance were not old enough to vote (and we are months away from election an not near a voting spot). If you think Mr Taylor violated a particular law please cite such code section.

  3. Chillax Rick, it was posted as a humorous question. But if you want to try and take it seriously, read up and ask why a candidate is giving an item to voters: O.C.G.A. § 21-2-570 {"Any person who gives or receives, offers to give or receive, or participates in the giving or receiving of money or gifts for the purpose of registering as a voter, voting, or voting for a particular candidate in any primary or election shall be guilty of a felony."} along with GA election code 183-1-19-.01
    [And if a federal candidate, 42 U.S.C. 1973i(c), 18 U.S.C. 597, 608(b) - it is illegal even to give voters a cup of coffee]
OK Rick, hope you weren't planning any stunts if you run for office. Why so defensive?

  4. I was going to invite only voters 21 and up and buy shots all night at the Dunwoody Tavern.
