John,
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly is KH going to be studying and planning for Dunwoody Village Parkway?
I realize there are MARTA off setting funds, but since we have no idea what the village will look like or be in 5 years let alone 20,what exactly are they doing?
I must have missed that work session?

In my opinion this meeting is an excellent example of why CofD is not better gov’t but just unnecessary gov’t. The pro CofD crowd used the argument for city hood that the county did not assign police officers to territory of Dunwoody. To me it seems ironic that those same leaders are now introducing a North Metro Swat Team which will feature CofD officers engaged in assignments outside of the city. Voters were told that if the need for these type of services were needed then an Intergov’t Agreement with the county would provide the service. Participation in this SWAT Team means that more CofD officers will spend more time NOT patrolling the streets of Dunwoody and wasn’t the argument just put forward that the CofD needed to hire additional officers to handle the rising amount of calls for police service. Bonus to city employees for doing their job? I wonder what the spin would have been had the county given a department head a bonus? An IGA for North Fulton Municipalities Aerial Imagery. The county already has a GIS department so why does Dunwoody need aerial imaging from north Fulton municipalities? Oh, Milton County? yet another unneeded gov’t. Could someone get Mike Jacobs to re-introduce his township legislation. That really sounded like better gov’t.
ReplyDeleteI suspect the SWAT engagement allows CoD access to funding it otherwise could not obtain. Follow the money.
