ReplyDeleteand another one!
Please allow the discussion to continue. There's no rush. I believe that the city will do due diligence and personally contact EVERY property owner involved to ask their opinion.

Joe, seeing that the City has been planning this without even contacting me in the first place and for the fact its going to effect me I don't have much faith in them.Sure bike paths are great but I don't care to have you or anyone else walking around my property all week long.I bought my house for several reasons and the main one was the privacy and the second was for the BIG backyard. If you like the Iron Horse Trail so much you should move closer to it and stop trying to push something that me and all my neighbors on Kingsglen Court don't want.
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeleteDiscussion or no discussion, everything that I have seen/heard to this point leads me to the conclusion that our elected officials of Dunwoody are hiding everything and anything that has to do with this greenway. Every time I go to the city of Dunwoody website it changes. You can't find anything. And especially anything about the greenway. All the maps of the greenway are hidden way down deep in the site, numbers keep change of how many people were contacted for this so called "survey", meetings dates and times are hard to find.... I could go on. It is the duty and responsibility of these elected officials to ensure that the citizen of Dunwoody are informed. Stating that "all the information is on the website" well, what about those that don't have access to the internet. Heck, there was a meeting on a Thursday and guess what... that meetings information was put in the Crier that everyone received on Thursday afternoon. Which means that majority of those that read the Crier wouldn't have seen information about the meeting til that evening. I cannot tell you how many people I have spoken to that live along the powerlines that have had absolutely no idea about this Greenway proposal. And when you are talking about affecting the place where people live, that is HUGE!! I am absolutely appalled at the way our City Council has handled this whole thing. And I can tell you right now, I WILL be voting in the next elections and I sure as hell can tell you right now who I will NOT be voting for.
I hope that we have learned to access impact fees to builders for these future residential areas. These fees should be used to elevate the stress of more students in our already overcrowded schools.
ReplyDeleteI requested that the four master plan discussions be moved to the beginning of the evening and Robert Wittenstein agreed and asked that Parks be moved to the very beginning of City Business.
ReplyDeleteI anticipate that a revised agenda will be published with the order changes as well as any other last minute adjustments or additions.
Well put Leslie! The only thing you left out is that Joe doesn't give a damn about anyone other than himself.I bet money on the fact he works for the Path foundation and that him and little Doug Thompson are running buddies. The only two people on the city council I have faith in are Mr.Henneghan and Mrs.Bonser.I really hope that these two can talk some sense into the others and kill the trail seeing that we don't want it.

ReplyDeleteHey, hey! Is it really necessary to defame Joe in that manner
ReplyDelete(i.e. "...that Joe doesn't give a damn about anyone other than himself.")?
Joe's words on this blog read to me like a citizen politely presenting his point of view in an articulate and studied manner. I wish everyone could as civil as Joe - no matter their opinion.
