Authorize and Direct the City Manager to Terminate the Sales Contract for the 19 Acre Former Emory Dunwoody Hospital Site.
Explanation on last item: $100,000 of earnest money which the City has already paid to the seller of the hospital property will become non-refundable at Midnight of April 23rd and this item is on the agenda in case council wants to pull completely out of the project at no cost. The Georgetown Renaissance bids come in today (Friday) at 2 pm and an internal team of Council & Staff will be reviewing to see if a good proposal is in the mix which will likely meet published goals and also has a reasonable chance of an agreement between the parties being reached. If the team believes that there is at least one viable development plan (there may be 6) then this last item on the agenda will not be used and the City will forgo the option of getting a refund on the $100,000 of earnest money. No announcements of a Georgetown Renaissance finalist will be announced as further extensive review, due diligence and negotiation will need to take place.
