  1. Ah, Counsel-person John Heneghan, Dunwoody's most commonsensical counselor, as I have so inelegantly fallen off the wagon this afternoon, I'm going to let you in on a life secret - it's very easy to be successful in life, but not so to be honorable.

You though Sir, have achieved both, so it's your integrity I want representing me in our grand republic; therefore, I ask that you eventually venture a run as a State Representative, then the US Congress, and before your ginger head turns gray, become the second Irish Catholic in the White House.

Once that comes to fruition, my only request is that I receive an invite to join you for a glass of Michael Collins Single Malt Irish Whiskey that we'd savor in the Lincoln Sitting Room while smoking a couple of Cohibas and dissecting Lee's strategy at Gettysburg. And out of respect for the office, I'd even leave at a decent hour, thereby obviating any sort of brannigan with the brethren.

  2. Dude, you crack me up!

I could never be President as I would never allow the release of my high school transcripts as they would truly show the buffoon that I truly am. My new goal in life is to move up from water boy on my sons football team to being an NFL ref.

Now those guys wield some awesome power!

  3. About this 911 Update memo from staff; why do I get the feeling the memo is less about dazzling council with brilliance and more about baffling them with BS. Bottom line is promises from staff were not kept. I'm beginning to believe staff simply doesn't understand this task. If it could not have been done or staff didn't know how, then council should have been told. About the delays in dispatching didn’t DeKalb warn the city about that? And now it’s discovered the IGA might not even be valid. Didn’t DeKalb offer a dispatcher and channel for free but council followed staff's recommendation and we got a 90 second delay in dispatching medical calls and perhaps millions spent on the unworkable. I think EMS saves a few more lives on average than PD so I've got no clue why PD was given preference on a 911 center selection. Council wise up and get a second opinion from somewhere other than staff.
