Chick-fil-A Dunwoody is open for lunch at the old Arby's location on Jett Ferry, this week only with a limited menu and service only by drive-thru.
I kicked myself yesterday that I forgot to bring one of my boys to help me vote as politics and elections were a big topic of discussion in my household as I am sure it was the same in yours. I used the video above from TedEd to explain the Electoral College. TedEd not only has educational videos but in the Watch, Think, Dig Deeper links on the right of the video page it also has tests and discussion points.

ReplyDeleteHey Dunwoody, hasn't this national election shown you how much on the wrong side of history homophobic hatred is? Realize the fact that banning same sex marriage will soon go the same shameful way as segregation, denial of suffrage for women, and laws against miscegenation.
ReplyDeleteDunwoody's embracing of Chick-fil-A (i.e. "Dunwoody Economic Development Director Michael Starling said the city has also gone out of its way to accommodate Chick-fil-A.") when its Corporate President, Dan T. Cathy, advocates a denial of basic civil rights for a large segment of our society is a slap in the face to my gay/lesbian family members, friends, neighbors, and the entire LGBT community. Dunwoody does not need to go out of its way to accommodate businesses that stomp on human rights!

Want some Chicken Strips with that WHINE?
ReplyDeleteSo, Richard, I ran a trace script across the network, obtained all the IP's hitting the blog's server at your comment's time stamp, culled through the applicable addresses, and was able figure out which one was yours, and I know exactly who you are.
ReplyDeleteFigures that someone as cowardly as you would comment without displaying your name and that someone with an impuissant character as you have would be against gay rights, a woman's right to vote, and that you would want to keep the races separated.
However, I'll forgive your bile towards me as I know being an internet troll is perhaps your only exchange with fellow humans. Though please forgive me, if I never react to one of your missives again - I just feel like I need a shower after I reply to your vile comments. God bless and I pray you obtain the help you need.
WOW.. I doubt any of us will ever be as smart as you!
ReplyDeleteBTW..How is that wounded Hawk, so many people in Dunwoody are wanting to talk with you in person about that amazing event?
"Hawk Emergency" Update?
ReplyDeleteStatus was already posted on October 25th.
ReplyDeleteThe wounded hawk that my neighbors Shelby Edwards Sr, Hermes, and I captured with assistance from Shelby Edwards' children and their friends was picked up by Officer Head of DeKalb County Animal Control (she said she was part of the DeKalb Police) after 9:00 PM EDT, on Thursday, October 25th, out of my laundry basket which was in my garage at 2453 Brookhurst Drive, Dunwoody, Georgia.
My neighbor Hermes was the one who finally got someone from DeKalb County to come out, and Officer Head called him when she was on our street (i.e. Brookhurst Dr.) for further directions to my house.
Officer Head was very professional - she refused to accept a beer for her troubles. She said the most vicious critters she's had to capture in the area were the copperheads. Next time I see Hermes, I'm going to see if he can call Officer Head to see what the outcome was for the poor thing.
And by the way - you are welcome to come by any time, but you must be civil to my wife and daughters as one asshole, namely me, in their lives is their given quota. Who knows, I might even pour you a drink, but not my good stuff.
On every other Saturday, I conduct a senior fight club, and you don't even have to bring your own gloves or tape, I provide that, but be advised - we don't wear headgear; we're all too old for the blows to the head ever getting around to affecting us. However, for the first time that your smart ass does come round, you probably won't want everyone else around to see you cry when my youngest daughter whips your butt in the ring.
