Have you ever wondered what law enforcement really is and wanted to get an idea of what it really entails? Law Enforcement Exploring is a great way to investigate this career opportunity. Exploring is a structured program promoting integrity, leadership and teamwork. Exploring is open to boys and girls, ages 14 to 21, which have completed the 8th grade.
Come join the Dunwoody Police Explorer Post 702 on March 5th for live demonstrations, pizza and fun. Spend the evening with us from 6:30-8:00PM at the Dunwoody Police Department located at 41 Perimeter Center East.
The Police Explorers Program is a worksite-based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are between 14 and 21 years old. The Police Explorers Program is governed by Learning for Life which is a division of the Boy Scouts of America. The Dunwoody Police Department’s Explorer Post (#702) was established with a $2,000 donation in 2009 from the Rotary Club of Dunwoody.
The Police Explorers Program helps participants gain insight into careers in the field of law enforcement in a learning environment with lots of fun-filled, hands-on activities that promote the growth and development. The Dunwoody Explorers meet weekly to train in different aspects of law enforcement and volunteer at community special events and functions.
Participants in the Dunwoody Police Explorers Program are also eligible to compete for Learning for Life and Boy Scouts of America scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000. The community service hours also make Dunwoody Police Explorers eligible for other scholarships and nationally recognized awards.
