Resolution in Support of the Dunwoody Nature Center's Milkweed Project (Chesnut Elem is looking forward to project.)
Resolution to Approve the Issuance of an RFP for the Purpose of Conducting a Feasibility Study on Brook Run Theater. (Expecting extensive discussion and changes to the drafted proposal.)
This evening the Dunwoody City Council approved the construction of the Brook Run Trail to now extend from the back of the park, crossing the creek and cutting through the new park which will also be developed at the corner of Pernoshal and Peachford. The 12 ft concrete trail will extend from the playground at Brook Run, through the new park, cross Shallowford, go past the Savannah Style Square and end at the new playground on Chamblee Dunwoody.
ReplyDeleteThe Council also approved a plan for the City to prepare an RFP for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Brook Run Theater in order for us to get a price on getting it up to code and operate as a basic theater. The building is in bad shape and without knowing the scope of the project, all other discussions as to the future of the property are mute.
Thank you for your votes, John.
ReplyDeleteI agree that a prudent approach to the Brook Run theater should involve a good and proper site selection, as well as a rehab/reconstruction cost analysis for the current structure.
