Dunwoody Police Department will be participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday October 27, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.4 million Americans abused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.
Stop by Dunwoody Police Department on October 27, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to drop off expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs or over-the-counter medication. We cannot accept needles/sharps, syringes with needles, thermometers, IV bags, bloody or infectious waste, personal care products, empty containers, inhalers, medical equipment and hydrogen peroxide.
