Rezoning informational meeting Monday Night for Roberts Drive property across from new Austin Elementary.

Looks to be requesting ten houses where there are now two and the property is located almost directly across from the new Austin Elementary Bus access lane.

Meeting Monday Sept 10th - 6:30 pm at the upper level of Cecil B. Day Sports Center of Dunwoody Baptist Church, 1445 Mount Vernon Rd, 30338.  I also saw that the developer will be visiting the DHA meeting next Sunday to make their pitch to the community.

  1. I'm not sure that adding another intersection and dense housing directly across from the new Austin is in the best interest of the safety of our kids. There is already a lot of traffic on Roberts in the morning, even before several hundred more kids are added to the Austin cluster. There are going to be many more kids walking, riding bikes, or coming to school in cars or buses when the new Austin opens. And that doesn't even take into account Nature Center traffic, which will be using the same entrance. Adding another intersection, with additional cars pulling out in the morning will add to confusion and potential accidents.

I generally favor denser development, but I don't know that this is the right time or the right place for this one.
