New O'Brian's Restaurant open for just under a month, with new owners and a caribbean fusion menu, may already be looking to expand?

It was a wonderful Friday night at the Heneghan household where the young couple relished in the fact that our three teenage boys were gone to various events or away at college.  We each had long day at our various day time professions so we sat under our magnolia tree enjoying conversation and an adult libation.  Numerous neighbors walked by with their dogs for their evening stroll, a few friends stopped and went, and another good friend stopped to enjoy a glass of wine as we got into some heavy discussions regarding the meaning of life.  Before you know it, we decided it was time to think what we were doing for the evening meal and the topic of O'Brian's new menu was raised.  Our good friend decided to join us for a meal to continue the conversation and we were off to O'Brian's Tavern for dinner.

As we walked to the front door a young man was departing and as we passed he turned thanking us for visiting during their soft opening, hoping that we would enjoy the food.  It turned out that young man was one of the two new owners.  As we walked in I recognized friends to our left but my bride saw friends at a booth up ahead, so as she is custom she immediately welcomed those friends had to know what they were eating and if I'm mistaken she may have even started taste testing the appetizer on the table.  After saving that couples appetizer from my bride, we returned to talk to our other friends to hear their opinions of the bill of fare. 

The server was friendly if not chatty and knowledgeable of the food and we really enjoyed his quick wit; the busboy was attentive with our waters and as my wife needs to know everyone's story we soon swapping stories with a Dunwoody High School Junior who was doing a fantastic job for it just being his second day in the position.

We ordered a few cocktails and the bartender personally came over to clarify a point on the wine choice (Pinot Grigio vs Pino Noir) and before you knew it we were chatting regarding her Caribbean culture.  She then challenged us to guess her first name based on the clues that she is named after an island off Venezuela as well as a popular cocktail.  My buddy who speaks four languages, and has lived in various parts of the world then smiled, high fived me and turned to the bartender saying it was a real pleasure to meet you, Margarita.  That round of drinks were then on the house.

We reviewed the extensive menu and ordered the Jurk'd out Salmon Rolls & Spinach Dip for appetizers, I had the Parmesan Crusted Salmon over the creamy pasta, our friend had the Blackened Salmon with my bride only having the Tomato Bisque soup.  All the food was fantastic. We chatted with the General Manager who explained that there may be big changes coming to O'Brian's as this was just a soft opening.  There may be establishment name changes in the future, there may expansion of the restaurant into the vacant spaces next door and they would really want to expand outdoor seating too.  What they want to stress is that this is a new restaurant, with new owners and wildly different menu from what the previous other establishment offered.    Check them out as I think we'll be back later this weekend for brunch.

Could the new O'Brian's already be thinking of expanding?
