Ride of Silence - in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.

Since the BRAD (Bike Ride Around Dunwoody) happening this Saturday is in honor of Jim Benson, a Dunwoody man killed riding a bike, I wanted to promote the Ride of Silence happening on Wednesday May 20th at Piedmont Park.

Maigh Houilhan over at Metroblogging Atlanta is heading up the effort and more information can be found here & here.

DATE: May 20, 2009
TIME: 7:00 pm
WHERE: Hundreds of locations world wide - In Atlanta meet at Piedmont Park - corner of 10th and Charles Allen.

Distance: 5k Notes: Riders will meet just inside the Piedmont Park gate at 10th and Charles Allen between 6:30 and 6:45. A few words will be said and we'll begin our ride promptly at 7 pm.

All levels of riders welcome: beach combers to carbon fiber fixies.
