Dunwoody Soap Box Derby this Saturday at First Baptist Church Atlanta


The eighth annual Dunwoody/NE Georgia Soap Box Derby will be held Saturday, June 6th. The event is hosted by The First Baptist Church Atlanta. First Baptist Church Atlanta is located at 4400 North Peachtree Road, Dunwoody, GA 30338, just outside Interstate 285.

Saturday's race will draw a record breaking 50 drivers who will compete in car divisions of Stock, Super Stock and Masters. 

Winners of each division of the local race will travel to Akron, Ohio to participate in week long festivities which will culminate with competing in the "All American Soap Box Derby". 

Super Kids: On Friday, June 5, from 9-12 The Dunwoody Soap Box Derby will also hold a Super Kids race. Racers with special needs will compete in tandem cars driven by certified drivers. The Super Kids race is the only one of its kind in Georgia. A record setting 12 Super Kids will compete in this year's race, and will also qualify to compete in Akron at the Nationals. This event is not to be missed. 

Speeding Police Cars: Cars sponsored by The Dunwoody Police, Chamblee Police and Doraville Police all have entries which will create a well-intentioned race for bragging rights all the way to the finish line.
