John, am I reading the budget correctly that another 40 large is going to be invested into redesigning the city brand and logo? After only three years???

SDOC, that does seem to be the request but Council may reject or have other plans. Brookhaven had a contest with students or the community submitting ideas and I am wondering if that could work for us?

Nothing proposed in budget is fully set in stone and City will flush out requests as to why items are needed as we get closer to discussion.

Thanks for replying, John.

I clearly remember during the original branding design process numerous complaints that the process was bid out to Sky instead of using student talent right here in town (DHS, GPC, AIU, etc).

There's also been some concerns in some areas that none of the design jobs (including the signage from last year) went to Dunwoody firms.

I won't go into the other commentary of the time.

Is this going to be another "joint branding effort" w/ the CVB and Chamber again? Either way I just penciled in some time on my 2014 work calendar for the latter....

Small town feel. Big city appeal. Words straight from the comp plan.
