Folks,

Currently my political party, the Heteroclites, hasn't the funding to get my name on the ballot; therefore, once again I'm requesting that the good citizens of Dunwoody write in "Gary Ray Betz" (I'm thinking they won't credit any votes for "Copperhead Hunter" to me, so refrain from entering in that alias of mine on the ballot) for any or all positions this coming election.

I'm putting myself out there as an inadequate alternative, but an alternative nonetheless.

The only four planks in my platform are the legalization of marijuana and same-sex marriage, suffrage for felons who have paid their debt to society, and the humane treatment of copperheads in Dunwoody.

Best regards,

Copperhead Hunter - Gary Ray Betz -

"But then I sigh,
and with a piece of scripture,
Tell them that God bids us do good for evil.
And thus I clothe my naked villainy
With odd old ends stolen forth of holy writ,
And seem I a saint,
when most I play the Devil."

- William Shakespeare

"My rusk epiphany was a bit less romantic than a bit of madeleine in tea or the sun behind winter trees - was merely a rolled pill millipede."

- Gary Ray Betz in deference to Boris Pasternak and Marcel Proust

"Her, walking away, not turning, a slight traffic signal wave from the back of her hand, and me thinking - no one longer weeps for Siruzkoh."

- Gary Ray Betz in his appeal to and an assuagement of the heartbroken voters

"Damn Guinea pigs! Why do they have to hoard all the pound sterlings!"

- Gary Ray Betz in his attempt to humor the Dunwoody UK transplants or Anglophiles

"I own an old carpenter's plane with a beautiful polished wooden knob that allows me to make everything flat and smooth - on the surface."

- Gary Ray Betz in his failed metaphor of woodworking and the politics of experience, and a perhaps equally inept attempt to lure the carpenter vote

Dear Copperhead Hunter,

I am an new found fan of your You Tube videos.

http://www.youtube.com/user/GaryRayBetz/videos

They are highly enlightening. Especially the one on the cure for Dementia, consisting of a mix of venom from Lucille (your Copperhead)with Jameson Irish whiskey.

Then, in another episode you tease us by showing off your new line of apparel. Yet there's no link to get one. We citizens of Dunwoody would LOVE to proudly wear your line of clothing. Especially the t-shirt emblazoned with "Copperhead Hunter". So, what gives???

Seriously Joe, I would be honored to provide you with one of the T-shirts - at no cost to you. Just convey your size.
