AJC Dunwoody Wine Fest cancelled due to low ticket sales

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, despite best efforts to provide a new event showcasing the Dunwoody and surrounding areas,  has cancelled next month's Inaugural AJC Dunwoody Wine Fest on October 10 & 11 after advance ticket sales did not meet expectations. The AJC wanted to announce as soon as possible rather than cancel last minute.

Refunds will be provided to those who purchased tickets within 3-5 business days. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

I was pleased to see this event when it was first announced. Mainly due to the major sponsor they had behind it (AJC). October is a very busy time of year and I believe that this would have been a better event with more affordable ticket prices. Ticket prices were in my opinion very high for a first time event. $65 per person $85 at the door ($130 or $170 per couple). I hope this does not discourage the AJC and the Dunwoody CVB from trying again.

maybe they needed a larger billboard/sign in the PCID to advertise it

I totaly agree with Heyward. The high price is what killed this event. Maybe first time could have been $35 per person.
