Dunwoody schedules overnight paving of Tilly Mill / Peeler & N Peachtree for tonight and goes all weekend.

Overnight Paving Operations Scheduled for April 7 to April 10

Construction crews are scheduled to begin paving operations on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. and work continuously until Monday, April 10, 2017 at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

The overnight paving work and continuous operations allows for expedited project delivery and the anticipated completion of the first phase of paving known as “leveling.”

While the scheduled overnight paving and continuous operations (beginning April 7 at 7 pm until April 10 at 6 am) may be a short-term inconvenience, the approach offers several advantages: Enhanced schedule coordination with DeKalb County Schools by conducting the work during the latter half of the of DeKalb County School spring break when many people are out of town and traffic is lighter. Reduction in the total number of days paving will take place on the project.

Advanced scheduling process for driveway and grass restoration on homeowner properties. The city anticipates the potential for an additional future weekend paving operation following the April 7-10 work to permit the installation of the final topping course for the project surface. A future notice will be distributed as soon as scheduling details are coordinated.

Travel delays and lane closures can be expected during the weekend work period and crews will be on hand to ensure safe passage through the construction area.
