Special Presentation - not 100% sure but I believe this presentation might be historical in nature and guessing the year 1972 will be mentioned? If I am correct on the subject and possible speaker, I am looking forward to this presentation!

Tonight was an expensive night at Dunwoody City Hall, with me being the lone NO vote on the Winters Chapel trail, the Eidson trail connection was approved unanimously and I was grateful that it was reduced from 12 feet down to 10 feet wide. Everything else on the agenda was approved but the big thing on the agenda for me was the vote on the $3.7 million dollar construction of the Brook Run maintenance facility / parks office space. The issue I had was that our 2025 budget allocated $1.5 Million dollars for construction and now staff presents us with a proposed item more than double the cost as budgeted. I know that construction is expensive, but also know that our budget staff provides us with a very conservative budget projections which provides a full ask of what money is to be spent and then a projected revenue stream that is usually lower than realized. A cost overrun of greater than $2 Million dollars that weren't allocated for this amenity, means that other public facing park amenities will not be developed yet Council approved this budget item by a vote of four to three with the Mayor Deutsch, Joe Seconder and myself voting No.
