21st Annual Harris Jacobs Dream Run in Dunwoody - Sun May 4th at MJCCA Zaban Park
Twenty-one years ago, Harris Jacobs, a former Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) President and active member in the Atlanta Jewish Community, had a dream. His dream was for every child, regardless of their family’s financial situation, to be able to participate in the MJCCA’s many programs and services. This race serves our community by providing a fun, active and family friendly event that honors Harris’ memory and dream.
Sunday, May 4th – MJCCA Zaban Park
7:30 AM – Kids’ 1-Miler (Ages 12 and Under)
7:30 AM –1st Annual Blonder Walk – in partnership with the Blonder Department for Special Needs
8:00 AM – 5K Road Race/Walk
Highlights:
• NEW THIS YEAR!!!! Packet Pick-Up Expo at the MJCCA
Pick-up your packet before race day at Zaban Park’s Campus for the first annual Packet Pick-Up Expo. Two convenient dates are available: Thursday, May 1, 5:00 – 9:00 pm & Friday, May 2, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
• Registration: All pre-registered runners will receive a microfiber, high performance, men’s/women’s cut race t-shirt.
• Register before April 21, 2014 and pay $25; the fee will increase to $30 after April 21st.
• Kids’ 1-Miler fee: $15
• Blonder Walk fee: $15
• Race Day registration fee: $35
• Phantom runner fee: $30 - Please don't make me sweat; send me my shirt!
• NEW THIS YEAR!!!! The Blonder Walk
In partnership with the Blonder Department for Special Needs, the MJCCA will host the first ever Blonder Walk. Cheer on adults with special needs as they compete in a 1 Mile race around the lake at the MJCCA.
• Post-Race Festivities: Food, drinks, and local vendors and organizations, including Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Atlanta Hawks, Massage Heights (offering complimentary massages), and Mizuno.

AT&T is announcing that it will begin discussions with
city leaders about a possible launch in Fiber to Home gigabit internet service.
AT&T is looking for communities with "solid investment cases and policies""We’re interested in working with communities that appreciate the value of the most advanced technologies and are willing to encourage investment by offering solid investment cases and policies," Lori Lee, an AT&T home solutions executive, says in a statement. In total, AT&T says that it's now looking at up to 100 potential cities and municipalities, with the remaining major new names including Atlanta

Dunwoody Beer Festival at Brook Run Park on Saturday, May 31
Tap into Georgia to feature only Georgia based breweries.
The popular Dunwoody Beer Festival returns this spring to a new venue on the grounds of Brook Run Park in Dunwoody. This year’s theme, Tap into Georgia, will be an intimate affair that exclusively features Georgia based breweries from all over the state. Confirmed participants include well know brewers such as Sweetwater, Red Brick, and Terrapin, as well as hard to find breweries just emerging onto the craft beer scene like Yes Face, Fannin, Eventide, Burnt Hickory, and Cherry Street brewers. In total, more than 20 Georgia breweries will be represented at the festival.
Tickets are now available for purchase through the Nature Center’s website at www.dunwoodynature.org/beerfest.
Tickets are limited at $30 in advance and $35 at the door if there is any remaining availability. Proceeds from the event benefit the Dunwoody Nature Center, a local 501c3 non-profit organization. Ticket price includes 2 tastings at each of the breweries at the festival, live music featuring the Bad Neighbors, souvenir glass and access to on-site food trucks.
Dunwoody Lemonade Days "Big Squeeze" 5K on Sunday

In conjunction with Lemonade Days, The Big Squeeze 5K and Little Squeeze Fun Run will be held at Brook Run Park on Sunday, April 27, 2014. The 5K starts at 8:00am and the Fun Run starts at 9:15am. (FYI - Dog Park will be closed for Race)
REGISTER FOR THE BIG SQUEEZE 5K AND LITTLE SQUEEZE 1K HERE.
**All runners must park at Peachtree Charter Middle School. There will be no parking inside Brook Run Park. PLEASE DO NOT USE CHURCH PARKING LOTS.
