City of Dunwoody City Council Work Session rescheduled for Thursday
City of Dunwoody will be closed on Monday, January 10, 2011, with the exception of emergency services
Due to the treacherous road conditions the City of Dunwoody will be closed on Monday, January 10, 2011, with the exception of emergency services. The City Council work session has been canceled and will be rescheduled for Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
Joe, it is my belief that 24 hour electronic notice (posting on website) is all that is needed to reschedule a meeting.
Due to the inclement winter weather and icy road conditions the City of Dunwoody administrative offices will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 11, 2011, with the exception of emergency services. Police, fire, and other services essential for public safety and health will remain open. Other recent changes:
• The City Council Work Session has been canceled and will be rescheduled for Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
• The City of Dunwoody Municipal Court will be closed tomorrow. At this time, the Municipal Court session for Wednesday, January 12, is still scheduled.
• The Planning Commission Meeting scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled. It has not been rescheduled at this time.
With everything you do for the city, even taking the time to answer this citizen's inquiry, your Councilman's pay must come out to a 1/1,000,000,000,000,000 of a cent an hour.
You Sir, are always on top of things, no matter the crisis. Dunwoody is so very lucky to have a man with your sense of civic responsibility, pride, and fortitude!
Gary, it is never about the money but all about public service.
As a public service announcement, I can personally attest that the hill at Peachtree Middle School was perfect for sledding yesterday and am told that with Stonington Rd being completely iced over there will be a crowd forming there in about an hour.
Enjoy the day folks, stay off the roads and be safe.
I wish my son had 'access' to that hill, but we live too far away. At least i am still close to my home elem school with access to it (but no hills there)
I posted a similar comment over at Dunwoody Talk, but it seems to me that the City should purchase a couple of snow plow sets that can be mounted on dump trucks, and then contract the use of the trucks during inclement weather. If the City owns the plow sets, that distributes the cost across both parties and it should work out better for all concerned.
Shutting the city down for two or three days because of a few inches of snow (ice would have been a different matter) has got to cost more than a few plow sets.

Do the first reads need to be postponed until there are new advertised dates?

2 of my kids (the eldest I gave birth to and the one I married) are creating their own "snow crowd" in the backyard.
