Monday Night the Dunwoody City Council will be approving the 2024 budget, we will be spending close to $600K of Federal funds in order to contract for an additional EMS (Ambulance) to stay in Dunwoody and we will be reviewing the BerryDunn Police Department Operations & Management Assessment for the City of Dunwoody, GA.
I need to read the BerryDunn report in full detail another time but the main immediate take away is the report recommends adding three new police officers and adding four Community Service Officer (non-sworn). My guess is Council will want to follow the recommendations (I do), we just need to find the funding (in either cuts or additional revenue) to do so. Below is the link to the full file.

I support spending more for more Police and thank you all for your work on this.
Amen Max. Shave bloated City of Dunwoody administrative positions. Hire operational public safety personnel. Get back to the basics of what government functions should be.

Thank you for your comments and I wish to address the CSO issue.
As you may know, DeKalb County started a "Co-response" function for repeated 911 calls that do not need a uniformed officer. Did our consultants mention that? I think we should explore that County initiative, as well as our own dedicated personnel, in light of budget constraints.
It worked well with a neighbor situation that was recently resolved in a positive manner. In other words, it is already in place!
