Dunwoody City Hall to close for two weeks

The Dunwoody Police Department and City of Dunwoody government will continue operations while City Hall is closed to the public as a precaution.

Dunwoody, GA – March 14, 2020 – In an abundance of caution related to COVID-19, Dunwoody City Hall will be closed to the public until March 30 to protect staff and visitors to the building. Police and city operations will continue during this time.

“Our priority is to keep everyone safe and healthy. I’m grateful for the preparation by staff to be ready to telework,” said Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch. “Dunwoody's greatest strength is our community, and I know that working together we can make everyone feel supported during these uncertain times.”

Even though City Hall will be closed, city government remains open for business with non-essential staff working remotely. The City has several online tools available to residents, businesses and visitors.

  1. Permits can be filed and inspections can be scheduled online using the following link: https://dunwoody.portal.iworq.net/portalhome/dunwoody.

Dunwoody Police will continue patrols and enforcement while taking precautions. Walk-in police reports can still be filed at police headquarters if needed. There is a bell at the main entrance that you can ring to contact the Police Service Representative on duty.

The closing of Dunwoody City Hall means city meetings scheduled through March 30 are canceled. This includes the March 23 City Council meeting.

City staff who are working remotely will be monitoring their landline office phones regularly or forwarding them to their new location. Questions about specific department operations can be found on the individual department pages on the city’s website: https://dunwoodyga.gov/index.php. Department pages include email addresses for department heads and other staff. We encourage citizens with questions to call the departmental line AND email the contact directly.

Now is a good time to make sure you’re registered for Dunwoody’s emergency alert system, called NIXLE, using this link: https://local.nixle.com/register/. Updates will also be communicated using the City’s weekly e-newsletter database (D-news). To add your email to the list, follow this link: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/1rwJdWf/spring.
