Understanding Dunwoody Park Bonds by Sen. Dan Weber

I had the pleasure of leaving town this weekend to visit some family in friends in Chicago but in doing so I missed the CV Classic and Fall Festival at Peachtree Middle School, the monthly DHA meeting, the first Mayoral Forum and the first 2 of 14 public presentations being made by Dan Weber on understanding the Dunwoody Parks Bond Referendum coming up in November.

I'm sure the local press were covering these various events and that you will be reading more about them in coming days but figured I would share this PowerPoint I received regarding the proposed bonds.  Please review the slides and attend one of the future presentations being offered as listed below.

The secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant.

Good quote, but didn't Robespierre become a tyrant himself?

Yes, Robespierre did become a tyrant and was duly dealt with by the French Convention but I just felt that these words of his were applicable to what a fantastic job the city council is doing in their dispersal of data to the community.

And hence my screen name "Robespierre" is a subtle reminder to the citizen founders of Dunwoody not to crawl into bed (just a slap and tickle should do) with any of the local narrow-minded special interest groups (e.g. Tea Party, fanatic right-wing Republicans, elderly members of Batista's Progressive Action Party, the SRLS Movement, the women of the UDC, and Windows Vista or Red Hat Linux users, etc) whose avaricious and limited visions will squelch any chance of a vital livable city for our children or our children's children, or their children...

Listen Robespierre, and please take this as just a friendly rejoinder, even as much of an oxymoron as my existence is (i.e. that of a pro-choice Irish Catholic woman, with a strong emphasis on the "PRO") what you have just written is a load of crap, or you are just pulling my leg (or would like to).

Perhaps, Miss Colleen, my presumably seraphic lass - as you write like an angel, a little bit of both...
