As an taxpayer living on Peeler Road, I would like to suggest that there be a prohibition on right-hand turns onto Peeler during certain morning hours and left-hand turns from Peeler onto North Peachtree during certain afternoon hours. This might cut down on the amount of traffic and speeding issues we see from Fulton and Gwinnett County resident using the Peeler to Tilly Mill to Peeler cut-thru to I-286 and allow residents living along Peeler to actually exit their driveways without sitting for 5 minutes for traffic to clear.
What happened to the proposal for a rotary intersection?
This solution is 1990's thinking...
The rotary intersection these days is more passe than the rotary telephone, and statistics attest to its injurious and lethal legacy.
Our city government officials would be shamefully bereft of their constituents if attention were not paid to the vorticular intersection with single-lane vomitory vent avenue exits, which allows for its use in high speed conditions.
This is the very latest in traffic control developed by Zennstrom and Friis, it was merely a metastasis of their communications networking applications, and has been very successfully implemented on highway systems in Sweden, Estonia, and Russia (and don't worry about violating your Dunwoody "no-Communist" oath of office, these countries have evolved into a sort of socialist and capitalist mix).
However, as Dunwoody is not interested in progressing as a city, confirmed by the recent election of tea party candidates and the rejection of all aspects of the park bonds, I'm sure no one will be interested and we will continue on the straight and narrow road to being a once great city that became a festering sore populated by the likes of "Herberts" and eventually DeKalb County will have to step in and bail us out.
This stagnant and despondent tenor that the greedy and selfish oligarchs have placed this town in with the last election, has me hearken to Bruce Springsteen's lyrics from his song "The River" -
"Now all them things that seemed so important —
Well mister, they vanished right into the air..."
We have no dreams, we have no dreams...
"Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned.
The worst lack all conviction, while the best are full of passionate intensity - but reined by the worst."
WB Yeats
