Yes Stuart, my column titled “Wasted Votes” should really be titled “Other Votes” but when I was looking at the election day results I was amazed that people from both parties took the time out of their day on Tuesday to actually cast votes for individuals who were no longer running for President but whose names were still on the ballot. I understand that votes were cast early for people who were in the running for the Presidency and by election day those candidates had dropped out thereby I consider that unfortunate but not wasted. My amazement at people voting on election day for candidates who were no longer running clouded my judgement in labeling that column and I should have just labeled it “Other Votes”. Thanks for allowing me to explain.

Intrigued by the column "Wasted Votes." What does that mean? A vote for someone who had suspended their campaign?
